The following are some of the easy steps that citizens can follow while reapplying for their lost PAN card.  Now, there is no need to fret even if you have lost one of your most important documents.

  • In order to apply for duplicate PAN card, you must logon to and then choose the relevant option, Re-print of PAN card.

  • From 49A should be filled online after completing all details.  Upon successful completion of form, applicant gets 15 digit number of acknowledgement of application.

  • The next step in applying for lost PAN card is to send the completed form to the Income Tax Department along with identity and address proof. Two colour photographs along with signatures in the right places need to be attached along with this.

  • If you want to apply for Duplicate PAN card, the application and processing charges are 106INR if address for communication is within India. If applicant’s communication address is outside India, 985INR need to be paid by the applicant. Payment can be through debit card, credit card, net banking, DD etc.

  • All details need to be sent to Pune’s NSDL office within 15 days of online application. The cover should clearly contain the 15digit reference number. Online tracking has also been enabled of late, in order to help citizens track their application.
